Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business-related field.Demonstrated experience with electronic records, especially the utilization of spreadsheets, calendars, word processing, database, presentation software, and e-mail applications.Budget development, personnel and information systems experience.Experience with web site development/management.Experience monitoring and reconciling accounts.Project coordination and/or management experience.Demonstrated ability to design and prepare reports.Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures.Event management experience.

Job Description:

Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory, affiliated with Iowa State University, is seeking an EFRC Coordinator to oversee operational aspects of two Energy Frontier Research Centers (EFRC) within the Divisions of Chemical and Biological Sciences (DCBS) and Materials Sciences and Engineering (DMSE).

Responsibilities of the position include the preparation and development of budgets, budget projections, and other information for use in account management, and annual and monthly reports; administration of personnel actions including faculty, postdocs, student (graduate and undergraduate), Professional and Scientific employees, and visiting personnel; coordination of communications and events; participation in program reviews; coordination of proposal submissions; and preparation of annual reports. This position also serves as a program resource, supervises part-time undergraduate students as necessary; maintains awareness of relevant ISU and Ames Laboratory policies and procedures, and serves as central information source for the principal investigators, staff, and students within the EFRCs and their respective Divisions, as well as a liaison to other ISU and Ames Laboratory operational personnel.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to gather, analyze, and assemble data and prepare reports according to required formats by the funding agency, the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse constituency of faculty, staff, students, and external sponsoring agencies in order to perform tasks required of this position.

The University is in the process of implementing a new classification and compensation structure. The impending change is expected to be completed by Fall 2020. Any P&S employee hired through this posting may be assigned a new title and associated pay grade upon the employment start date (and after the initial offer), commensurate with qualifications required for the position. The duties and responsibilities of the posted position, in addition to compensation offered, will not be affected by this process.
