Mary Greeley Medical Center Data Warehouse Architect in Ames, Iowa
Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of a data warehouse system, data marts, and applications using the data warehouse. Designs and writes Extract Transform Load (ETL) code, batch management and error handling processes. Documents technical specifications and related project artifacts, including solutions-oriented design across the data warehouse (i.e. architecture feedback, business process redesign, and the implementation of automated control processes).
Unit Specific Position Responsibilities
Responsible for the architecture and design of enterprise Data Warehouse processes while providing technical leadership for Data Warehouse implementation, with design, development, maintenance, and storage standards.
Designs and develops logical and physical data flow models for Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes to acquire and load data from internal and external sources.
Accountable for all aspects of the data warehouse processes including data modeling, ETL, data validation, data quality assurance, and implementation.
Develops and implements programs in various languages like SQL stored procedures, ASP .Net, Java, Python etc.
Evaluates data process optimization opportunities and develops recommendations and improvements.
Translates data access, transformation, and movement requirements into functional requirements and mapping designs.
Creates and enhances data solutions enabling seamless delivery of data and is responsible for collecting, parsing, managing and analyzing large sets of data.
Collaborate with technical and business users to develop and maintain enterprise wide solutions and standards to provide data required for metrics and analysis
Partners with members of the Business Intelligence team to provide required access/structure to data.
Build relationships with business intelligence partners to understand data needs in order to execute with excellence on documented user requirements
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
Required Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or year’s equivalent
Required 3 years of experience in SQL development
Preferred – 5 years of experience developing in dynamic SQL databases with 3 years of health IT experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Ability to develop data integrations between internal and external/third party sources. Demonstrated ability to understand, discuss and document complex data models. Excellent documentation skills. Excellent knowledge of data mining and statistical analysis. Familiar with databases and data management process.
